Ilfracombe Jelly: coworking for homeworkers, The Ilfracombe Centre, 2 March 2011

Welcome to the news that there will be Jelly for homeworkers, freelancers & digital nomads running in Ilfracombe on Wednesday 2nd March at The Ilfracombe Centre.

Jelly is a grassroots movement that has been spreading across the UK as a new way of working – and now it’s reached Devon! 

If you’re a homebased freelancer, digital nomad or small business, it’d be great if you could join us!  Please sign up if you intend to drop by as it will help us have an idea of numbers – just register your ticket above.

What?

Why?
Working from home or on the road is great, but can be isolating. Where?

This Jelly is taking place in The Ilfracombe Centre (directions).  Offering hot desking and business services, this location is centrally located and near cafes and eateries.  Free wifi is available, so it'll be well worth swopping your home office for working here in the company of other homeworkers!

Jelly can take place anywhere – this one’s in a business centre!  It is very well suited to purpose-built workspaces with internet access and multiple, well-placed powerpoints.  It is a good introduction to coworking – the idea of coming together in a shared space to work on your own projects with the benefit of meeting others.

What happens?
You can chat, enjoy the company of interesting new people, exchange ideas etc. - or get down to some actual work ;-).  There's no enforced chat or embarrassing ice-breakers and definitely no sales pitches!  If you do want to bring headphones and work in your own little world, that's fine too.  Of course, most people attend because they miss that bit of office interaction when working at home alone.

How do I join?
You can just turn up and drop in at any point during the event which runs from 10:00am - 4:00pm.  Stay as long as is useful and, as it is a work environment, you are welcome to take phone calls.  If you can book a place above, it will help us know what numbers to expect.
